My Make-up Staples

(I couldn't link the jeans because I got them years ago from forever 21, by some miracle they still fit.  I wouldn't get them again, they aren't life changing but they do a pretty decent job now. lol! Emmett's shirt and Ruby's romper are already sold out so I linked great alternatives :)) Also that cute makeup bag was gifted to me from some family friends for my wedding, I love it!

I did a quick little makeup tutorial on my instagram a couple months ago. I showed you guys the products that I used and how I do my everyday makeup. Well since then, I've added and changed some products. Ulta and Sephora had some sales and I figured now was the time to upgrade or replace some of my makeup. I'm so glad I did because most of the make up I purchased was at least 50% off! So, now I'll give you some of my reviews :)

Old Favorites:
I have used NYX finishing powder for over 3 years I used to use the Makeup Forever brand of finishing powder and it worked amazing but I saw this doupe in Target and haven't gone back since. There are certain makeup essentials that I like to save up for but a finishing powder isn't that. Especially when this works just as well as the pricey brand.

I love the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick! I have 3 colors but this one is probably the one I wear the most, I can tell by the broken cap from overuse! Haha

Anastasia Brow Wiz: Color-Soft Brown. I have been using this since I was 19 and will never stop. It is the perfect brow pencil and I stocked up when it went on sale for 1/2 off.

New Favorites:

Maskcara Beauty: My girlfriend Corissa, the photographer that takes all my pictures (she's amazing) sells Maskcara makeup. I had seen it a lot on instagram and what attracted me to it was the convenience. You can have your foundation, blush, contour, and even eyeshadow(s) all in the same pallet. I'm a minimalist when it comes to make up and will only use the essentials so I love that type of convenience. I decided to try the contour and blush colors. I will never stray away from Makeup Forever foundation, so that seemed like a great place to start and I LOVE THEM! I also got a new brush and beauty blender from her which I absolutely love!

I got the beauty blender, 30 second hack brush, contour shade: stone, and blush shade: sandstone

Becca backlight priming filter. I've never used a primer before and I can't believe it took me this long. To be honest I never thought it would make that much of a difference. I probably never would have tried this if it didn't go on sale... This bad boy is almost $40. I got it for $20 when it went on sale and I highly recommend you do the same if you're interested. It totally gives you this glowly look without the shine (as long as you don't apply too much, a mistake I've made before hahah)

Tarte Shape Tape. I've heard lots of reviews on under eye concealer. I was really indecisive between this and trying the IT cosmetics under eye concealer. I ended up going with Tarte because I felt like it was more versatile and I am actually really happy with it. It is great in the coverage department to where you really don't need a lot of product. I can already tell it's going to last me forever!

Makeup forever HD protector skin tint foundation with spf 25. I was running low on the foundation I had since my wedding (3 years ago in June) and I decided I wanted something with less coverage. I'm not into the full face of makeup but like to bring a more even toned look to my face. This stuff is so perfect I'm never going back. It feels like I'm not even wearing make up and a little goes a long way without the cake-y feeling!

Not my favorite:
Lancome hypnose drama instant full volume mascara. It's the worst, I literally don't even know how it has 4 stars on it's reviews because it's the flakey-est (not a real word) mascara I've ever tried. The brush is fun but that's about it. If anything this purchase taught me a lesson, never stray away from what you know and love (real life)! haha! I'm not even linking it.

Otherwise here are some of my other favorite mascaras:

If you are in the market for some new make up let me know what you try and love! Thanks for reading :)
