Blue Cotton Dress

DRESS//SHOES//JEWLERY from (FRANCESCA'S)

Happy Monday! Only 4 more days until the weekend ;) I'm starting off the week with one of my favorite pieces to wear, a fitted cotton dress. They are comfortable and feminine. I could probably live in this dress because it's so comfortable. The length is perfect and I love the cut of the sleeves. To make them more fall appropriate I usually pair them with booties or a jacket. I found this dress at COTTON ON for less than $30, and they have so many different colors. They have even more options on their website, check them out! :) I hope you all have a great day!

My Long Bob

I cut  almost 10 inches off my hair a couple weeks ago and I'm finally getting used to styling it! Yes, that is an accomplishment for me ;) For this post, I'm talking about one of my go-to hair styles.

So for you ladies that...
1.  Just chopped your hair and are trying to get used to the different length
2. Are thinking about chopping it and are looking for styles
or
3. Are just following along :)

Below are the steps I take to get a quick and styled look.

((From right to left))
1. After I wash my hair I almost always let it air-dry. The only time I blow dry my hair is if I'm in a hurry, other than that I just don't. So, after it's dry I usually let it part naturally and then section off pieces and start curling from the bottom to the top.
2. As I'm curling, I use the technique that everyone uses... Where I rotate curling the pieces of my hair from towards my face to away from my face. So all of the curls aren't totally uniform.
3. Then I use my straightener to straighten some ends... I don't do this all over my hair. Just for pieces that I feel that got too curly.
4. Lastly, I run my fingers through it and part it how I like :)

I love this style because it's so quick, it takes me 5 mins in the morning and I love that. I hope you all are enjoying your week!

Midi Skirt + Button Up

BLOUSE (Size: Petite XS)//SKIRT (Size: 2)//BOOTIES (Size: 6)//PURSE-Similar//NECKLACE-Similar//BRACELETS

Midi skirts are all over the place this year and I love it. They are fashionably classic and can work with any season. Being 5'2, I have a hard time actually finding midi skirts that don't completely drown me. So I'm pretty picky about them, but this skirt is from ASOS and I'm in love with the fabric. It's comfortable and not too heavy. I've found that the "skater" dress/skirt style work best with my body type. So for you ladies that have my same struggles, those are highly recommended. I usually wear this skirt with a plain blouse tucked in or a henley shirt, but button up blouses are also a great option! BANANA REPUBLIC is also having a 40% off sale on selected items and this top is included along with adorable plaid shirts too! You have got to head over there ASAP ;)

Chambray Shirt + Levi's

SHIRT(SIMILAR)(Size: XS)//JEANS (Size: 25X32)//SHOES (Size: 6)
It's finally the weekend! :) Is it just me or did week take forever? Anyway, I'm wearing another comfy look today. Chambray shirts are great if you're looking for a more casual look. I love the way Levi's fit and the wash on these black ones are amazing. I've washed them a bunch and the wash still hasn't faded. Definitely one of my favorite pairs of black jeans. Whether it'd relaxing or nonstop, I hope you all have a great weekend :)

Sweater Weather

SWEATER(Size:S)//SKIRT(Size:XS)//FLATS(Size:6)//PURSE
I've had some of you ask me about my sizing so here it is... I'm just under 5'2, I range between 25/26 in waist and most of my tops are either XS or S. For the most part I fit in petite sizing. But I prefer my clothes to fit more modestly, so sometimes I won't choose the petite size depending on the item and how it fits on me. But I'll start posting my sizing to give you all a better idea :)

A few posts back I posted about my fall must have's and v-neck sweaters were one of those must have items. I've found so many cute oversized sweaters but I have been looking for more formfitting ones.  So I was pretty excited when I found this V-neck sweater at DOWNEAST. How awesome is this fig color for this season? :)
I never really thought about integrating edgy pieces with more preppy pieces but I was inspired by some of the looks that I saw on the runway. Kate Spade and Ralph Lauren would pair collared blouses with leather booties or leather vests and I just love it! I hope you all are enjoying your week, we're half way through :)

Comfort Zones

This past weekend was general conference and for those of you that aren't affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, general conference happens semi-annually. We hear from our Prophet and 12 Apostles, and they provide us with guidance, uplifting inspiration, and their testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ. One of the talks given by of Elder Russell M Nelson really inspired me. He spoke on women and their many important roles. It got me thinking of our divine potential and how comfort zones can really hold us back. So because of that, I want to share something with you that is a little more personal to me.

I've been following a variety of bloggers for years and I've loved all of their different topics and personalities. So, I decided that I wanted my own little space on the internet to express my passions and interests too. One of the ways I am able to express myself is though style, it's my creative outlet. Style to me, is more than just articles of clothing. Style is about being true to yourself, your uniqueness and your self-confidence. The way you dress can say a lot about who you are, how you feel, and where you want to go. But aside from fashion I also love writing, reading, and learning. Through blogging, I feel that I am constantly learning and growing and I love it. Starting this blog was definitely something out of my comfort zone. It has made me feel awkward and vulnerable, but in turn has been helping me work on my weaknesses.

Whether it's with blogging, applying for a new job, moving, starting a new business, dating, etc.. Anytime you are taking a risk to put yourself out there with the possibility of failure, you'll need to have courage and endurance to consistently pursue it. And all of that requires you to step out of your comfort zone.

Comfort zone's can make trying new things difficult and hinge your progression. Sometimes you don't even realize you're stuck in a comfort zone until you try to step out of it. That's one of the worst... and I've definitely experienced those types of situations. But there is so much to gain outside of what is comfortable. These are some things I try to keep in mind when I'm pursuing something that takes me out of my comfort zone.

Endurance. Although there are many advantages to the world being so instantaneous, it presents definite disadvantages. The main disadvantages being; unrealistic expectations of success, relationships, and progression. Anything worth having is going to take time.Your endurance through the process will make you stronger.

Feeling uncomfortable. When trying something new, chances are you're not automatically going to be the best at it. It's going to take trial and error, constructive criticism, and LOTS of awkwardness. You have to understand that it's part of the process of getting better.

Feedback. It's really hard to take criticism. I understand that, which is why I refer to any type of critique or constructive criticism, as feedback. It's ultimately up to you whether you let it offend you or improve you. If we have an open heart and willingness to learn, it will not only help our understanding but help our progression.

Being Faithful. It's hard to have faith sometimes and up until four years ago I didn't really understand the true principle of faith. But that was when I made one of the biggest decisions of my life. That decision has not only affected me but has affected my friends, family, and will effect my future family. I became a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement has changed my entire perspective on life. It has given me strength to move past my fears and to put my faith in Him and His plan. I rely on Him constantly, especially in moments of awkwardness, weakness, and fear.

Have you ever felt the fear to try something you were passionate about? Do you have an experience where you reached out of your comfort zone and it helped you improve? I know that pushing past my comfort zone has always helped me and my progression. "We need women who make important things happen by their faith and who are courageous defenders of morality and families"- Russell M Nelson. Thanks for following along, I hope that you all have a great week.

Blazer

Blazers are one of my favorite staple items. I love how they add a more polished look to any outfit. I would describe my style as more feminine and classic so it's always fun to incorporate edgier pieces like leather jackets and even blazers to give a different look. I also can't seem to stop my obsession with the slit knee, and these are actually jeggings. They are way comfy and I love the wash.  I got the boots last year from ALDO, but they have to many cute styles this season that you have to check it out! I linked some similar options above. What are some of your go to items to spice up your outfits?

October

October is the best. If you've ever been in Utah during October, you get it. It's so incredibly beautiful with all of the changing leaves and crisp fall air. This is my favorite time of year to go running up the canyon because the scenery is so distracting, it never feels like a work out ;) Fun fact...Wyatt and I actually met on the very last day of this month, last year. haha!

Anyway, here are some items below that I'm really loving for this month and fall season! I hope you all have a great weekend!
