Motivation Monday

I feel that it's SO important to have a positive outlook on life because it's way too easy to get stuck in negative thinking. I've definitely struggled with negative thoughts from time to time, which has made me really have to focus on NOT getting myself into those negative ruts. When you're positive, you're more motivated and able to accomplish what you strive for. I'm going to share some things that I do that help me with motivation and positivity.  

Don't compare: Comparing automatically leads to negative thinking 100% of the time. Everyone is experiencing different situations at different times and stages of their lives. In the end you're just setting yourself up to feel awful. Why would you ever want to do that? YOU'RE AMAZING!

Celebrate: Celebrate those around you, especially their success.  Heck, celebrate everything! 
Have you ever had an experience in which a good thing happened to you and others around you were completely supportive? Remember how you felt? It was probably pretty awesome, right? Well keep that going! Success is awesome and it should make you happy and proud, not inferior. With social media everywhere it's easy to see into someones life, whether they are having success or difficulties. Be supportive if they are going through a trial. Be stoked for them if they are succeeding! It could make that persons day and help you feel awesome too. 

Plan out your days, weeks, or even months: Planning can help tremendously with stress. I'm a checklist person and that helps me with my planning. Sometimes it can be a negative quality because I can get irritated when things don't "go according to plan." Planning can't fix everything, but I know when I try to plan important dates or tasks I get them done and that helps me feel less stressed.

You are in control of your own actions: ...Not anyone else's actions. Sometimes we wish we could control what others choose to do or even circumstances around us, when we can't. We then end up dwelling on why it's not going our way. I'm guilty of that. But focusing on that will lead you to unhappiness. Have faith in those around you and situations you can't control. 

Don't let anyone tell you, that you can't: Especially yourself. Stepping out of your comfort zone is difficult. But there will be situations in your life where you have to. You'll feel like you can't accomplish something you really want. Set goals and accomplish them, whether they or big or small. If it's important to you, figure out a way to make it happen. Who's to tell you that you can't do it? No one. You're fully capable to do whatever it is that you want! But what if there's a huge chance you might fail? ... If you fail, who cares? You went out there and you gave it you're all and that is progressive & that kind of progress will get you where you never thought you could go.
