Neutrals for Fall

TOP(Also in this POST)//SKIRT//BOOTS (SIMILAR)

The best thing about neutrals is being able to wear them all year long. Neutrals work for any season, the more muted colors can work for winter just as well as summer. Blush pink doesn't have to be just for those warmer months, it can work as a great fall neutral too. Also pairing skirts with boots, tights, and jackets can help you keep those summer and spring outfits year round. I got this Aline skirt from ASOS I was pretty obsessed with the pockets and buttons. I love how these skirts are trending right now because I feel like they are such a classic look.

Casual Basics

CARDIGAN(SIMILAR HERE HERE)//SHIRT//JEANS//FLATS
I love everything about this outfit, it's casual, comfortable, and perfect for fall. Also, all of these items make great staple items to have in your closet. If you're petite I highly recommend checking out ASOS's petite selection. I'm 5'2 and always have trouble finding jeans that fit and aren't too long, sometimes I'm just right in-between jean sizes and it's so frustrating. But these jeans are true to size and have a 28' inseam which usually fits me best. I'm not much of a flats girl, I think I only own 3 pairs. I'm just really picky about them and whenever given the choice between a pair of flats or a pair heels I will always pick heels. But these are so comfortable and cute I've been choosing them over my heels! I hope you enjoyed this post and are having a great weekend! :)

Pinspiration

I get inspiration for fashion everywhere. Magazines, fashion week, tv, social media... literally everywhere. But Pinterest is definitely one of my favorite sites for finding inspiration and keeping up on trends. Below are some of my favorite pins for this season :) I'm loving the incorporation of neutrals during the fall! Where do you get your outfit inspiration?

Skin Care

The weather here in Utah is slowly but surely cooling down. The evenings and mornings are feeling much more crisp and I'm loving the change. But the colder the air, the drier my skin... Which is not a cute look and brings me to skin care. Over the past couple years I've really focused on moisturizing my face and I've noticed a difference. So today I'm sharing a few of my favorite skin products that save me during these colder seasons and products that I have been using for years.

1. Total Moisture Facial Cream: Since moving to Utah my face has experienced drynesses it's never seen before. This moisturizer has been a total lifesaver. The cold hits my face so much harder without wearing it. I wear it year round but I notice a huge difference if I don't wear it during the winter months. Not only is the moisturizing amazing, it smells incredible!

2. Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover: I normally never wear waterproof mascara but I use this eye makeup remover anytime I wear any type of eye makeup. It's super gentle and gets rid of all of my eye makeup without me having to continually rub it off.

3. Makeup Removing Cleansing Towelettes: These are my favorite wipes, I use them after I remove my eye makeup. Using any makeup removing wipes are probably beneficial but I love to use these at night!

4. Anti Blemish Pad: I love noxzema products I've been using them since I turned 13 and haven't switched to anything else. Their products are a little strong so I feel that they really get into my pores. I use these pads more for when I have breakouts, but they work amazing.

5. Original Cleansing Cream: I use this face wash everyday and have for the past 10 years. If you want a fresh deep clean, this is your product.

What are some of your favorite skin care products? Thanks for following along! I hope you all have a great week :)

Lip Sense

Today I'm doing a product review of Lip Sense. If you know me, then you know I love my lipstick so I'm really excited to share this product. I recently started using this lipstick this past month and this stuff is great! The lipstick photographs so well and I especially love it for long wear. I currently only have one color but it's the only color I've been wearing in my shoots and anytime I plan on wearing lip color for longer than a couple hours. It lasts forever! I've been to bed with it a couple of times and it's still on as perfect as it was the previous night! I've never used a lipstick that has done that before and I've used A LOT of lipstick. If you have any questions your go-to girl is TAUNI ALEXANDER  you can message me for her info or just click on her name :) Not only is she incredibly beautiful and sweet, but she knows everything there is to know about Lip Sense!

The color I'm wearing is Neutral :)

Have a great weekend!

Jumpsuit

Good morning!
I hope you all have been having a good week :) I'm posting about this jumpsuit from REVOLVE CLOTHING. Jumpsuits and rompers are so much fun because you can have a whole outfit in one piece of clothing (they have that in common with dresses)! ;) I love the cooler weather because I feel like jumpsuits are great alternatives to dresses. I paired it with these cute black pumps from CHARLOTTE RUSSE.

Motivation Monday

I feel that it's SO important to have a positive outlook on life because it's way too easy to get stuck in negative thinking. I've definitely struggled with negative thoughts from time to time, which has made me really have to focus on NOT getting myself into those negative ruts. When you're positive, you're more motivated and able to accomplish what you strive for. I'm going to share some things that I do that help me with motivation and positivity.

Don't compare: Comparing automatically leads to negative thinking 100% of the time. Everyone is experiencing different situations at different times and stages of their lives. In the end you're just setting yourself up to feel awful. Why would you ever want to do that? YOU'RE AMAZING!

Celebrate: Celebrate those around you, especially their success.  Heck, celebrate everything!
Have you ever had an experience in which a good thing happened to you and others around you were completely supportive? Remember how you felt? It was probably pretty awesome, right? Well keep that going! Success is awesome and it should make you happy and proud, not inferior. With social media everywhere it's easy to see into someones life, whether they are having success or difficulties. Be supportive if they are going through a trial. Be stoked for them if they are succeeding! It could make that persons day and help you feel awesome too.

Plan out your days, weeks, or even months: Planning can help tremendously with stress. I'm a checklist person and that helps me with my planning. Sometimes it can be a negative quality because I can get irritated when things don't "go according to plan." Planning can't fix everything, but I know when I try to plan important dates or tasks I get them done and that helps me feel less stressed.

You are in control of your own actions: ...Not anyone else's actions. Sometimes we wish we could control what others choose to do or even circumstances around us, when we can't. We then end up dwelling on why it's not going our way. I'm guilty of that. But focusing on that will lead you to unhappiness. Have faith in those around you and situations you can't control.

Don't let anyone tell you, that you can't: Especially yourself. Stepping out of your comfort zone is difficult. But there will be situations in your life where you have to. You'll feel like you can't accomplish something you really want. Set goals and accomplish them, whether they or big or small. If it's important to you, figure out a way to make it happen. Who's to tell you that you can't do it? No one. You're fully capable to do whatever it is that you want! But what if there's a huge chance you might fail? ... If you fail, who cares? You went out there and you gave it you're all and that is progressive & that kind of progress will get you where you never thought you could go.

I hope you enjoyed this post and have a amazing week! XO

Hair Hair Hair

This post is about some of my favorite hair products. I'll start off with some of my "hair history" haha. I've gone through experimental times with my hair... mostly in high school. I bleached it and chopped it off, I even had it this super weird orange color. Ya... that definitely wasn't my best look ;) I had really short hair my junior and senior year of high school, and I loved it. But a couple years ago I was just ready to have long hair again. So, I've just let it grow these last 2 years. I've kept it relatively close to my natural color, making it slightly lighter or darker here and there. But nothing drastic. I debate cutting it every now and then but it just hasn't stuck yet. The funny thing is, I cut about 4 inches off the day before my wedding but I honestly still haven't noticed it's gone. As for now, I like how it is. I'm definitely not a hair expert, but I'll share some products I've been using on my hair that have helped me keep it long and strong :)

1. IT'S A 10 SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER: I love this shampoo and conditioner. It's lightweight so it doesn't weigh your hair down and leaves it feeling so soft when I get out of the shower. I used to wash my hair every single day but using the products it doesn't feel thick and gross. So, I usually wash my hair every other day and rotate with #1 & #2 when I do wash.

2. LOREAL EVER PURE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER: Like I said above, I rotate with IT'S A 10 so I really only use this shampoo 1/2 times a week. But I love the fresh scent and how clean it makes my scalp feel. I just started using these sulfate free shampoos a few years ago and it took me a while to get used to because they don't foam up like others. But it's totally worth the switch, my hair became so much healthier!

3. BATISTE: This is hands down the best dry shampoo I've ever used. Especially for dark hair, most dry shampoos have a white color but this comes out dark brown so I never have to worry if I didn't totally blend it in. Also it smells yummy ;)

4. PAUL MITCHELL SUPER SKINNY SERUM & IT'S A 10 MIRACLE LEAVE-IN PLUS: I use both of these as a heat protectant. I used to be awful about using heat on my hair (like every day- blowdryer & a hot tool). I'm much better now, but both of these products have helped restore my split ends.

5. MOROCCAN OIL MEDIUM HAIR SPRAY: The only products I use in my hair other than shampoo and conditioner are those heat protectants and this finishing spray. The only time I use it is if I'm curling my hair and want it to hold longer than normal. Even then, I hardly use any. But it's great for a finished and stronger look without looking stiff.

I get all these hair from ULTA. I love feedback so let me know what you think, and I'd love to know what your favorite hair products are! :)

Grey, Plaid, and Black

Dresses are typically associated with the warmer months, right? Well not for this dress, it's perfect for the fall. I wear dresses year long mostly because I love the feminine nature of dresses, and how easy they are to make into outfits. I recently got this dress from REVOLVE CLOTHING. I love the simplicity of the dress because you can pair it with anything. I paired it with a flannel and jacket I got from FOREVER21 a few years ago. Grey and black are definitely some of my favorite colors to wear and especially as the weather gets cooler. I love how plaids can make an outfit more comfortable and casual, while leather jackets can make an outfit more edgy. But it would look great paired with some tights for more of a winter look or even a denim vest for more of a summer look. Gotta love those versatile pieces ;) What are some of your favorite versatile pieces?

Mani Monday

I hope you are all enjoying your Labor Day weekend!
Today I'm talking nail polish. Nail polish says a lot about your mood and style. I know I love to change it up during the seasons as well. Especially during the fall I love to start bringing out my darker colors and use more neutrals. I found this awesome gray/lavender color from Nails Inc in Ulta a few weeks ago and love it. Now, I actually find this shade more of a neutral. Normally when I think of neutral I think of more sand or off white colors like the CheckMate color from Revlon (which I love) but this polish has gray undertones and more of a lavender hue which makes it a fun and different neutral! Red's are the best because you can wear them all year long but this OPI shade is definitely my favorite for the fall. I got all of these products either from Target or Ulta, but here are links to where you can get them >>> OPI// NAILSINC// ESSIE// REVLON

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Make-Up Essentials

Hello readers :) Who's ready for a 3 day weekend?! I know I am!
Well I'm talking a little bit about make-up, I have a love hate relationship with make-up.  Make-up is so appealing to me, especially at the store. I could spend hours in Sephora or Ulta just browsing around looking at all the pretty eyeshadow pallets and lipstick. But when it comes down to actually applying it to my face, that's where it gets complicated. I'm pretty awful at it. Haha! So I tend to stay clear form eyeshadow and other fun stuff. But with that, I've experimented with many different types of basic make-up essentials. So I'll share so of my favorites...  :)

1. Make up for ever foundation and pressed powder: I used them in coloration with each other. I never used a translucent power before this one and now I won't go back. It leaves a matt finish without looking "cakey.'' I also have sensitive skin and this doesn't irritate it at all which is why this is the only brand I'll use on my face. Shade on foundation: N170

4. Anastasia Dip Brown and Brow Wiz: This stuff lasts me forever! It goes on so smooth and is the perfect shade. I use both on my eyebrows. I usually just line it with the pencil because and fill it in with the brush. Shade on dip brow: Medium Brown; Shade on brow wiz: Soft Brown

3. They're Real! Mascara by Benefit: Since I don't do much with my eyes I'm fairly particular with my mascara. I've probably tired them all from drug store to higher end brands and I started using this brand since they came out and haven't used anything ever since. The bottle never gets clumpy and it really separates your lashes.

4. Covergirl Smoochies: I wear this probably 6 days of the week. I love it because it's like lip stain and chapstick mixed into one! Shade: I have like 7! haha

Thanks so much for reading and following along!! XO

Berry Stripe

HELLO September! Above I'm wearing a dress from Downeast.  I've worn it a few times to church and other events and love the stripe detail. The dress is part of their new fall line (it also comes in navy). I love Downeast, it's one of my favorite stores because they have affordable modest fashion. It looks great paired with nude or black heels. I'm wearing nude. I wear nude with most of my dresses and skirts for 2 reasons 1) nude matches with everything 2) I'm pretty short and I feel like it makes my legs look longer (short girl trick ;]) I also paired it with this cream Anne Klein bag. Thanks for reading! XO
